Edit: I think what was wrong with it before was that I was trying to alter the original drawing until it looked perfect, but I really needed to just start over again using some basic geometry to give it structure. Now all that's left is to tweak it here and there in Illustrator and it will be done.
I've been working on this all day. I keep changing things and starting over. I still feel like something's off about this, but I can't put my finger on it, it just doesn't look professional. I figured I'd upload it and see what others thought.
If any of you have suggestions you think would make it look better, I would be very grateful!
This is the current logo: [link] And the WIP for this logo: [link]
the s and the large e have a design on the top half that I think could be integrated through the rest of the design. Also, I think the underline under the "the" shouldn't go all the way through the S.
I think the small letters are too little to support that design in them, but I see what you mean about the line on the S. It's a bit unnecessary and you've convinced me to change it. Thanks for the tips!
In one of the classes I took last semester, I learned a lot about logo design (though I'm just a beginner...). One thing that sticks out to me about this logo is that "The" doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the logo. It seems out of place. Perhaps play more with the negative space around the "S"? I don't know. Perhaps make it larger/bolder? Ditch the underline? I guess the only thing to do is keep trying things.
Sorry if that didn't really help... Overall I really like the font, especially with those swooshies.
No probs.
The structure is pretty organized for a fantasy-like title. I'll give it that. I also can't wait to see it on an actual cover or with color.
I'd like to say well done so far!
